The Flower of 2025

As a luxe florist, I’m always on the lookout for trends that will shape the floral world. Our industry is ever-changing - which is just one of the reasons this profession is so much fun! While there’s upsides to not ‘keeping up with the joneses’ and doing you’re own thing, it’s also helpful to know what’s popular with the population for inspiration and creativity purposes. So, whether you’re a bride, dinner party hostess or new florist - stick around.

Now, without further ado - here is my prediction for the flower of 2025.

This year, Anthurium is poised to take center stage.

This sculptural siren is more than just a pretty face—it’s versatile, stylish and perfect for a wide range of arrangements. From weddings to everyday decor, the anthurium’s natural beauty makes it a must-have for this year’s floral designs.

One of the standout qualities of Anthurium is its sculptural nature. These blooms add height and dimension to arrangements, making them perfect for creating eye-catching centerpieces. Whether clustered in a vibrant bouquet or used alone, Anthuriums command attention. Their tropical vibe is another major draw, infusing arrangements with a sense of warmth and exoticism. And with the ongoing trend of pairing flowers with fruits and vegetables, Anthuriums seem to be the perfect addition to creating dynamic and modern displays.

Green Anthuriums are definitely having a moment and anthurium’s glossy leaves and organic aesthetic align perfectly with the growing trend of naturalism in design. More and more people are leaning toward an organic or minimalist vibe, making anthuriums an excellent choice for single-stem arrangements or Ikebana-inspired designs. As noted in a recent article on The Wed, “single-stem arrangements are redefining wedding florals with their minimalist charm.” These arrangements highlight the beauty of each individual flower, offering understated sophistication that feels fresh and modern.

Just look at this gorgeous variegated Anthurium variety. We are loving the ‘Extase’ and ‘Midori’ shades as well.

Speaking of color… Anthuriums come in a wide range of shades, from soft pastels to vivid hues. Cherry red, forecasted as one of the top wedding color trends for 2025, is a striking color of Anthurium. But whether in classic white, baby pink, or vibrant green, anthuriums bring versatility to any palette. There are even some amazing artists that have explored making them Irridescent and Chrome! )They are so adaptable - which ensures they’ll be a favorite for weddings, events, and everyday arrangements alike.

While anthurium is undoubtedly the star of 2025, it’s worth noting that another favorite from last year, Amaranthus, will continue to grace our designs. Known for its dramatic cascading effect and rich texture, Amaranthus remains a popular choice for bouquets and installations. Together, these two blooms create a harmonious balance of structure and movement, offering endless possibilities for creative floral designs. As we embrace these trends, I’m excited to see how Anthurium and Amaranthus will transform the floral world in the year ahead.

What do you think about Anthuriums? Will they make their way into your floral designs this year? I want to know!!
